Dearborn Eats DearbornEats began as a local food delivery service, but due to marketing and financial constraints, the project was temporarily shelved. However, during our journey, we stumbled upon a pressing issue that we believed needed a solution. When searching for local food trucks, we found that a simple Google search was insufficient. To find out which food trucks were available in the area, we had to navigate through multiple websites and platforms. We decided it was time to change this and create a one-stop solution for anyone looking for food trucks in Dearborn.

The Birth of a User-Friendly Solution

Our vision was clear: to simplify the process of finding food trucks and share this valuable resource with our community. Thus, DearbornEats was born. Our platform is designed to be intuitive, user-friendly, and accessible to all. Whether you’re a food enthusiast, a local resident, or a food truck owner, DearbornEats has something for everyone.

Behind the Scenes: How DearbornEats Works

DearbornEats is built on a foundation of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, ensuring a smooth and responsive user experience. To enhance our platform further, we’ve integrated the Mapbox API to provide an interactive map that displays the locations of food trucks in Dearborn. Additionally, the Sheet Mapper plugin is being used to grab data from a Google Sheet and is then converted to geoJSON. The source code is hosted on GitHub and can be found here.
